Re: Cold sores and Dementia...stop with yogurt!

"A study found that people who get cold sores have a greater risk of developing Alzheimer's [dementia]. Cold sores are from the HSV1 virus [Herpes Simplex I]. Once again, a connection of disease to viruses. I think that most of the "mysterious diseases" [that do not have a well known cause or cure] are due to these critters... And therefore a good strong immune system is important, even VITAL... and immunity starts in our gut with microflora ["friendly bacteria"]."

The linkage with higher Alzheimer's rates and those who suffer from cold sores is a curious one, and bowel health is imperative, as the old timers know that yogurt wipes out cold sores. Consider taking Lysine, which is the antiviral protein in corn, and avoid Arginine, found in chocolate, as it is a pro-viral. The "Nature Made" brand of Lysine is soft enough to chew this mild-tasting supplement, and bathes the mouth and naso-pharyngeal region with Lysine that wipes out viral infections.
