Re: From Water Fasting Support Moderator who moved the posts

Hi Anorexia/Bulimia Moderator, I moved these posts here from Water fasting Support in the hope that Lauray would get better advice, as she rejects the advice given on that forum. Also, this sort of fasting and eating pattern does not really comply with anything I have seen, and are generally regarded by people on the Water fasting Forum as dangerous. This was debated at Fasting Debate http://curezone.com/forums/am.asp?i=1307848, as people in Water Fasting Support are completely exasperated with the situation. Lauray did not take part in the debate. There are no books on fasting that recommend this type of eating / fasting patterns.

I read the Support Forum Rules and it said posts that are deemed dangerous should be deleted and comments should be made pointing out the danger. Furthermore, the admin of a large eating disorder site emailed me and advised:

"I looked at the thread you posted on your site. I know you want to help people, but the bottom line is anyone with an eating disorder is only going to use your site to help self-destruct. The kindest thing you can do is say flat out, "If you have an eating disorder, this site is not for you". Of course, you can't guarantee all people will back out but at least you can make it clear where you stand.

I also would take down the links to videos that give tips about having & concealing an eating disorder. People who are sick can & will use those videos to trigger themselves.

The bottom line is there are many eating disorders. People mostly know of anorexia & bulimia, but there is also binge-eating disorder, compulsive overeating, & EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified). No one with an eating disorder, & in my opinion no one who ever had one before, should attempt a water fast or any other kind of fast. Regardless of if they are overweight, a healthy size or underweight, no good can come of it."

This very same issue has arisen with lauray 13 months before, see this post by a previous moderator at water fasting support

 "Because of the concern you are generating here on this board, and the concern that I have for young girls (with potential eating disorders) reading your posts, I have a strong suggestion for you that is actually quite encouraging for you. You have been posting this problem with fasting here now for over five months."

and in the same post...

"I really do care for you!
But I also care for all the young girls who are reading your posts. I have a niece who almost killed herself eating and fasting the way you are blogging here."

I did not want to delete Lauray's posts because it is obvious she has put a lot of effort into them, so I moved them here in the hope that she may get better help and support. It is now clear from her email to me using language taken directly from Arnold Schwarzenegger in Terminator One that she does not require support from here either.

And Lauray, I am sorry that you cannot find a place to get support, and I sincerely hope you resolve your problems in as short a time frame as possible. I hope the local moderator deletes your messages soon, if not you may wish to email the Webmaster or politely ask in Webmaster Support
