Why do I sleep so deeply

I am 34 with no previous sleep disorder or history of bedwetting but for the last 3 years I have begun to regularly wet the bed.

My local health authority are concentrating on any bladder disorders, but haven't found any. I am beginning to believe the problems lie in my sleeping patterns:
1. I tend to wet the bed within 2 hrs of going to sleep.
2. I have set the alarm to wake me...but it seldom does as I sleep through it
3. When I wet the bed I remain asleep, the discomfort of a wet bed is not enough to wake me.
4. I don’t tend to suffer bladder problems during the day

I underwent an operation, under general aesthetic, at roughly the time that the bed wetting started and it has been suggested by a friend that general anaesthetics can sometimes have long lasting side effects...could this have been the cause?

Any help appreciated.
