I had the same basic problems. I am 56 with no uterus, but still have my ovaries. I got put on HRT by my regular Dr. and after 5 weeks of the same symptoms, and hot flashes still occuring, I went to a supplement store. After lots of questions and answers by the store's owner,(we found out I was like a -7 in my progesterone count) he put me on progesterone creme and 5% DHEA pills. After one week, my dryness is gone and I have weaned myself off the Synthetic hormones. After I have been on this for a month or two, I will go back and have a saliva test done for my hormone reading. It is something I take home, and send into the company directly, and they send the results back to me. Saliva tests tell the actual hormones in use, and the Dr. type blood tests only test USED hormones. Then, I can tell whether to add or decrease progesterone or estrogen. I am taking a mixture of black cohosh and other stuff in a product called "flash fighters" and actually have DESIRE again. I couldn't let anything come between me and my husband!! Good Luck!!
