If you eat anything, a person with a normal metabolism will have a blood Sugar of under 130-140. I agree that you are borderline diabetic--at this point you can go either way. Since you have the glucose meter, keep taking your blood sugars two hours after each meal. That way you can tell what foods are bad for you and what are OK. I assure you, you will have lower blood sugars on raw vegetables than a donut, but there is a wide variety of foods you can eat. You just have to discover the. Try a diet of protein and vegetables, no carbs (fruit, bread, cereals, sugar, flour products, rice, potatoes, etc) at all for ten days.Do not cheat. If you do, start over. By that time you will lose your cravings for sweets. And you will see if that diet will keep your blood Sugar stable. Then add foods one by one and keep checking. Ideally your fasting blood Sugar should be under 100.
