in the 1960's, the danish discovered the feeding grounds of all atlantic salmon off of greenland. they systematically decimated the stock of salmon on both shores of the atlantic. while all the fishermen around the world saw their yields diminish, the danes, who had authoritative control of greenland, saw their catches increase. it took embargoes by other countries and the intervention of the US secretary(kissenger, ick.) to force the danes to cease their practice.
