Tinnitus and Modafinil.

OK, I'll sum it up.

I've had "moderate" tinnitus for a few years resulting from head trauma.

I've noticed when I take modafinil (Provigil, Modiodal, etc), my tinnitus gets much worse, but it seems like after a few days of discontinuing the modafinil, my tinnitus returns to it's previous state.

Has anyone else ever experienced this, or does anyone have information as to why this happens? I want to know if there is a danger of making my tinnitus permanently worse.

From doing some research, I've discovered tinnitus involves the following words:
