I was diagnosed with PTC when I was a few weeks pregnant with my third son. I had him 11 months ago, and am still suffering with PTC. I was hoping my symptoms would subside after giving birth, however, they did not. I was started on Diamox early on and am still currently taking it. The side effects are horrible (tingling hands and feet). I am weening my son from breast feeding and plan to be done by the time he is a year old. At that point my neurologist is planning on changing my meds. I have been taking Vicodin 7.5 and phenergan 25 mg and diamox 2000 mg daily. None of my meds seem to be working, I hate feeling like this all the time. I don't want to go the route of having a shunt put in. I have had several spinal taps and I have only experienced relief one time for about a week and a half, then the symptoms come back. I feel like my doctor thinks I am crazy or just out to get more pain meds when I bring up the fact that it isn't working. I always end up running out before I go back to see him and then I have to suffer even more with the headaches with no medication. If anyone can offer any further help with dealing with this horrible condition I would greatly appreciate it. I want to get back to living a normal healthy life with my three kids and husband. I am only 26 years old and feel that I have a long life ahead of me. But I don't want it to be a life of pain and misery with PTC.
Thanks,
Julie from Atlanta, Gerogia
