Re: Hard times have some flirting with survivalism
Many do not realize that it would take so
little to disrupt the flow of goods AND
services to their local stores and their
communities. Plus, stores do not keep huge
supplies on hand and so when the shelves
go bare, that is the way they will stay
until replenished. So, while some are
perfectly comfortable waiting for FEMA
to show up with cases of water and MREs,
I am not willing to count on the government
to be there for me. I agree with this guy
and those others preparing for lean to hard
times. If they never come, great~~but if
they do, it helps me to feel like I have
taken what steps I can to prepare.
I am still meeting with resistance from some
who insist it is silly to buy more than one
week's groceries at a time but I do not mind
being laughed at. Hopefully, I will not have
the LAST laugh when they come begging for a
handout when the government has run out of
them. I would prefer to be wrong and merely
someone who stashes away what they can in
times of plenty for later, when times of need
arise.
Thanks for sharing~~
