No issues discussed
I must say, this forum lacks terribly in intelligent discussion. I too have cut and paste other's words, but really, if we are battling against each other's candidates we should discuss the real issues. We should discuss the economy, health care, education, foreign policy, the war, abortion.
This whole forum does nothing but debase and project anger issues.
My husband goes on many forums and blogs where they talk about these things. There are some very good topics, some real issue discussion.
Not here. I don't see this happening here.
Look, most of us go onto the
Health Forums and are very good at supporting and helping people in health crisis. There are some that have opinions about their personal alternative health beliefs, but they come into this forum and go nuts. Me included.
All of us are in this together. Whether it's McCain and Palin, whether its Obama and Biden, this is our destiny. Aren't you concerned? I mean no matter who wins?
Okay, I know, this is a "debate" forum, and by definition it's supposed to get dicey. But really, there are real issues out there. We've had fun playing, but doesn't anyone want to discuss the real things that affect us, and our real feelings about them?
Maybe that's too much to ask.
Okay, I've said this and I expect that most will just keep on posting crap. Maybe this is just supposed to be fun? If so...so be it.
I'm liberal I guess. I care about women's rights mostly. I care about not having our country going to the dogs. It's my job, my pension, child going to war. I feel so scared right now. And this fear is ever present with both candidates. Oh yes, I'm sure the Ron Paul supporters will say that their candidate is better. But really, can anyone fix us? I don't think McCain can, and I'm certain Palin can't if he dies. I'm sure Obama can't in any real time that affects me and offers relief of fear.
You guys, I'm scared. My neighbor lost his job recently. Another's son just died in Iraq. My husband's company just laid off 50 people, and in their entire history has never laid one person off. My son is of draft-able age. My husband's an my 401K has taken a dive so bad that we are looking at working at least 8 years beyond our original plan for retirement.
This stuff crosses political lines. It's very real, it's very personal.
I had to post this. Had to get it out of my system. I'm not looking to be provocative in this post, just sort of arbitrating all the hostility to say that when we go back up above to the
Health Forums we are better, nicer...
There is one thing that bother's me more than the conservative/liberal thing. It's racism. That's a bad thing.
I hope you all have a fantastic weekend. Get some sun and air. Enjoy the ones you love. Have a beer on me.
