Re: My fifteen day fast experience and lessons.
Couldn't agree more with latinmess and jpc.
I too get the "jail" feeling, but how about thinking if it as a but of self discipline instead. Reflect on things, and relax while enjoying the extra alertness you said you experienced. You should have been able to, you said you found yourself more in control of your mind. That is what I like about fasting too.
The weight gain after fasting, yes seems about right if you were overeating, but then you say it stabilized. I find the same. But you say you binge ate, was that on good healthy raw food, or processed and junk food? If the latter, it is why you feel fasting has had no lasting benefit. However you are now 16
pounds lighter after 16 days, and one of your goals was weight loss.
After a period of healthy refeeding try it again, but learn not to worry about it. You know it works now. Probably this is what our ancestors did when they ran out of food and had to walk elsewhere to find it. Sort out the eating addiction, I think that is your problem, plus a slight fear of fasting. Some healthy food should make your sex drive return, moreso as you are now in a more healthy weight range.
