Calcium

Hello Cathay and thanks for your interesting post.
Over my first few years with PD I tried one or two of the "standard" anti-Parkinson
drugs. Each of them had such nasty side-effects that I couldn't continue with
them in each case.
About two years ago I decided to try a bottle of multi-vitamins from our local
supermarket. I seemed to feel better with them. After a while I dropped them in
favour af Calcium tabs, I felt better with these and took them for a while. I must
say, however, that none of these helped Parkinson symptoms at all, but in a
way I felt "better"... could it be that you feel better just for taking "something".
I intended to try high dose Vitamin C , like CoQ10, a powerful anti-oxidant, but
didn't get round to it.
I have been prescribed Cabergoline now and seem to be doing ok on it so far.

I am convinced that getting out and about with an interest such as a hobby is
a strong tool to fight Parkinson's with. Last year we bought our own static
caravan ( I think you might call them RV's ?) on a site not far from the English
Lake District, and we can go whenever we like for short breaks.
This cruel disease marches on... but all you can do is your best.
