My friend, it is you that has defined your own prejudices. You have the myopic viewpoint. No matter how educated you say you may be, it's nothing but emotional outbursts and vacuous statements.

Are you upper class? You don't sound like it. Well my parent are, and they are totally for McCain, as are all their friends. They are also military folks. They are all extremely educated people, probably beyond you, and definitely beyond me.

Not one of them like Sarah Palin....NOT ONE. It's a real conundrum for them. My mother's comment was "no class, no grace". My father's comment was "common, ignorant".

So.......they are still voting for McCain because they are straight line republicans. They are less than enamored with Bush. My father has a masters in economics, amongst about 5 other degrees. My mother is also as educated. Both of them are very well read. But they are old, and they are fairly naive about my social status.

The only thing I'm grateful is that my husband's and my vote will negate theirs.

If you are are in the upper classes, then I'd say you have a good bet going. If you love war then I'd say you have a good bet going. If you don't give a rat's ass about the middle class, then I'd say you have a good bet going. If you have medical insurance and don't give a sh*t about anyone else, then I'd say you are good to go. If you believe that we should all carry guns and shoot the hell out of each other, then you are in the right place. If you don't care about your personal freedom, and would welcome the government to take that away, then by all mean, vote for McCain and Palin (and guess what...they would take away your gun). If you have a ton of money tucked under your mattress, and you are already growing your own food, then again, I'd say OK. If you don't have a child that could be made to go overseas and shoot another human being, then I'd say...good for you! If you could care less about 1st amendment rights....or say, the banning of books, then I'd say you are supporting the right people.

I wonder why you discuss the more educated the liberal? I'd say it was the education (and the era) that made liberals like me. Seeing Vietnam. Experiencing Watergate. Seeing JFK and then Martin Luther King assasinated. Seeing all the striving for equality, shot down before our eyes. Living during a time when women were not allowed to be managers, or gain credit without a man's signature. Seeing gays try desperately to be equal human beings in the eyes of society and shunned because of their sexual choices. Asians, Mexicans, Iranians, French, English, Japanese, Polish, Russian, Indian etc.....that is the US my friend. We are the big welcome open arms of the world, and our country was made up of the world. And everyone came here because we are free.

And now we are losing our freedoms. They are trying to change the constitution. We are doing the very thing that the Geneva convention was against. Us.....what a huge surprise.

I was raised military. I'm proud of my Dad. But I am not proud of this country at all.

As I said before, it's all a big game, but the most important game of all. So don't mock my intelligence, and don't pull your passive aggressive bs on me. This is extremely important to me and I'm not about to play some stupid game with you.

If you want to discuss politics, then let's get down to it. If you want to piss in the wind, then go right ahead.
