Off Iodine - Observations
Against my will!
Unfortunately I have been stuck in this place with no way to get access to any type of iodine.
Previously I was taking everyday two full droppers of
Lugol's + a sinus irrigation with nascent.
Today is the 7th day with no
Iodine supplementation at all.
This is what is happening to me :
- less flexibility (after 2 days and slowly getting worse);
- manifestations of Sjogren's Syndrome : one dry eye, difficulty in opening it in the morning, impulse to rub it during the day; pain in the chest when I inhale too hard, a feeling of irritation in the trachea; vaginal dryness (yeah I have been trying to steal some selenium);
- some bad pimples around the hips, "bromide" detox style;
- stabbing pains in the gut from time to time;
- general irritation of tissues with hands and feet a bit bloated.
The pace of intensification of symptoms reminds me very much of the pace of worsening of conditions I had treated with pranayama. Would there be a ph link?
I have been on
Iodine for over 15 months. Some questions come to mind :
1 - the bug-killer effect should be complete by now?!? If these symptoms are related to the presence of some kind of bug obviously 2 droppers of
Lugol's for 5 months are not enough to kill it. Needs more
Iodine or needs something else;
2 - why would the "bromide" detox start again when the Iodine is stopped? I think this is a very important point.
It could be because less iodine in the body means that "bromide" is let lose but cannot be excreted in less painful ways. This hypothesis which is supported by the fact that Husband when feeling "bromide" detox symptoms just doubles his intake of Iodine to zap the problems away.
But could it be that the excretion only happens when iodine dosage is lowered?
That would mean we cannot excrete the "bromide" unless we take iodine in bursts, stopping regularly to let the "bromide" escape?
3 - the Sjogren issue : would this be related to blood ph? I have not found documentation about the effect of Iodine supplementation on blood ph, maybe because I do not understand the language.
Certainly the effect is very similar to the effect of pranayama. If iodine adjusts the ph in a way that it wipes away the Sjogren's Syndrome, that would mean that the said Syndrome is ph related.
Take away the Iodine (or Pranayama), and in a few days the ph slips back to where it was that allowed for Sjogren's Syndrome.
So this would mean Iodine supplementation is for life at high levels?
But not everyone suffers from an auto-immune condition. Does this mean that Iodine cannot "repair" this?
I would be grateful for your thoughts.
Lots of good wishes!
