Why Do we get the Xrays and MRI's first?

When most all diseases are caused by things in nano size? The microbial world, is where the cause is.

I mean most of us know soon enough, that something is not right, and then it grows for years, until it gets to an epedemic level....large enough too show up on an X-ray or MRI.
