I agree that we shouldn't make those breaks too long. I just found out that E. histolytica can multiply in hundreds of millions within days! That's as fast as some of the fastest bacteria out there. I guess our immune response must be keeping them at least somewhat in check...

As for my source, it was my parents who spent a year in endemic area just before I was born.
