I dont recall who it was that said we should be governed by philosopher kings, maybe plato but they would clearly have pointed to our current mess as proof they were right.

Our system is designed to train,educate and produce SHARKS of the worst kind. The entire political process is one of convincing the stupid masses that you are the toughest badass around. From start to finish it is all about influence,money and making deals to further your position.

The entire process of being a politician works to vet out anyone who cannot play the power game. The end result is a bunch of sociopaths vying to be king of the hill.

The other dysfunctional construction is having One person in charge of 300 million people. One person is not likely to have an in depth knowledge on any subject nor the time to study it. Clearly the partisan nature of one person makes them a dictator though with supposedly limited powers. Booosh being a perfect example of such a madman who simply writes executive orders denying acts of congress.

A better system would be a council of a dozen people of high academic qualifications such as phds in assorted fields from Science to medicine to politics to economics.

The sad thing is that the Sheeple crave a dictator or Fuhrer, someone they can worship, someone they can give their conscience to, someone who will absolve them of all guilt.

Thats where we are today. THe people want a fuhrer. And Palin will gladly be their man.
