He may be angry he is being deployed and doesn't want to go...or maybe he is just as miserable as you are in the relationship and doesn't know how to tell you. You can be lonely in a marriage or you can be alone, but not lonely, NOT being in a relationship.
My advice would be to see how you feel after he leaves. Monitor how often he contacts you and your daughter. If there is little contact, that will help you make your decision. If you find yourself missing him, there has to be a reason you miss him. Sometimes absence does make the heart grow fonder.
