Re: adrenal fatigue or menopause
Hello. I'm the one who recently texted in with the cold-flu and having a rough night sleeping, so am on the computer at 5;00am.
I noticed your message and yes, I can relate to what you are having. May I ask how old you are? I started to have hot flashes at night (night sweats) in my late 40's (pre-menopause) The hot flashes and sweats are a tell tale sign of low estrogen. Also, progesterone, according to Dr. John Lee, ( book, What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause ) occurrs years before estrogen levels begin to drop, so there is an off-balance. This puts stress on the adrenal glands if they are already compromised, causing increased anxiety and depression, also which can be related to hormone levels. I would also greatly advise for you to get your hormone levels checked ( estrogen, progesterone, cortisol, DHEA and testosterone)The adrenal glands also put out the sex hormones, when the ovaries begin to diminish hormonal output. This is what happened to me. But, do to some serious circumstances a few years later, I had to have a hysterectomy and I went on estrogen and natural progesterone cream, and felt so much better ( I did have my hormones checked and it took a year of juggling to find the right balance for hormone replacement though.
