UT and Fibroids/Endometriosis, Getting Worse? Women?
I've been on the UT for 2 months. I decided today to stop for awhile because the pelvic pain/pressure which I believe is related to endometriosis or possibly fibroids is bothering me quite a bit more than it has in the past. I had an ultrasound several years ago that showed enlarged ovaries, but I balked at doing laporoscopy to confirm the nature of the cyts, and have been trying various natural remedies, guessing at what might be going on based largely on symptoms and family history (mother with fibroids, no family history of cancer). Anyway, I know that both conditions are very hormone-related, typically I've read in estrogen dominant conditions, but also just read yesterday that there is new evidence fibroids are fed by progesterone and often get worse with incresaed progesterone intake, i.e. when women use natural progesterone cream.
I know the urine is supposed to contain hormones, and I had hoped it would have a balancing effect, but lately I am not so sure. I have the book Your Own Perfect Medicine and was encouraged by that author's story, since she had similar female issues, but maybe everyone is different. The UT has helped several things, like with sleep and generally with headaches for me, along with elimination and the white coating on my tongue (probably part of a candida issue), but I am quite concerned about the possibility that the situation with my ovaries & uterus might be getting worse. I had an awareness of it before, but now there is a pressure and sometimes small stabbing pains that sort of run down my leg pretty much all month long (though worse during and after ovulation).
Are there any women using the UT that have experiences with it affecting their hormonal cycles or uterine/ovarian issues one way or the other? I've searched for information on this, but I'm not turning up much. It occured to me that it might be some sort of a healing criis, like getting worse before it gets better, that the pressure could be from it breaking down, but my gut feeling is that the opposite is the case. I guess I at least need to have another ultrasound and see if they're any larger. I would hate to set back my progress with the UT if this is just a healing hurdle, so I'm interested to hear others' opinions if you have time to share.
I'm also doing some homeopathics, and my homeopath says this is all related to a protozoan infection, their main "nest" being in that area, which I'm taking the herbs and homeopathics for. She may be right.... or maybe not. It's hard to say.
