licences
Hi
Interesting article -
Years ago I remember a late night program on channel 4 where a US lawyer started a service (to those who would listen to him) where he claimed that he could (and did according to the documentary) rid any US citizen of debts owed to the banks and remove any blacklisting imposed on the individuals as well.
The way he claimed he was able to do this was by using the American constitution to protect the rights of the people he represented.
Other than a vague memory of the program that is all I remember of it.
Re: true ownership of land in the UK - we have a slightly different situation where we have a monarch and we are her subjects.
All English land (apart from the city of London) is crown land and therefore we only own our land by title (deeds) which puts us at a disadvantage by law as we don't have allodial title rights. (My understanding of this is presently limited but I intend to rectify this time permitting)

I'm not a supporter of the crown but believe we have more rights (should we choose to use them) with a monarchy than without. Prince Charles has been pro-active on the
Genetically-Modified farming issue recently covered by the media here - simply because he knows that it is an environmentally fatal mistake to follow that avenue which we are now being forced down, no doubt!
I came across a site where a man named J Harris refused to pay taxes over the past 5 years and states that so far he has been able to do so by using the 1848 Treason Felony Act which I assume had something to do with the creation of parliament.

My English history is not so good so if any one would care to correct or add information re: English common Law it would be of interest.
We are not able to bear arms in the UK either - unless we get a licence first and can prove that we can secure the weapon.
Do we have less rights or more rights in England compared with the US ?
We all seem to be heading in the same direction of complete corporate rule.
And then there's my favourite topic of the impending licensing of carbon which effectively means that we are having the weather licenced to us!! what next!
