Toe Nail pulling back from skin

Hola,

I mostly wear sandals and work on a parasail boat on the ocean. I don't know if it's because of the salt air, the sand or because of the shoes I wear when I do wear shoes, but my toe nails are pulling back from the skin. Just on my big toes, and most towards the inside of the toe. From where you would clip the nail on back, they are getting worse. To elaborate the nail is not connected to the skin underneath in a big portion of the nail. Like i could clip it if I chose, but I don't because of aesthetics.

What can I do? The skin underneath it looks real dry and "string cheese" like. I can clip that off too.

I was thinking I could super glue the nail to the skin, but a friend said that would probably cause harm when the nail grew, but I dunno if the skin grows with the nail?

I can post pics later if needed.

Thanks!
