That story makes me giggle a bit because I too have burnt up countless ozonators in the pursuit of finding something lasting. I can't say I ever tried capturing ozone from an air purifier and pumping it into water with an aquarium pump. It's no wonder the pump failed prematurely. The cups inside the pump are made of rubber and strong ozone eats rubber like candy. Ever taken a latex finger cot and put it in front of the output tube of your medical ozonator? Kinda fun watching it almost instantly disintegrate.
