Re: doing colon cleanse, changed to mostly veggie diet, having diarrhea, blood in stool, wont go way !

Hi, I have been recently diagnosed with left sided uc. Just prior to that I had a bladder infection, and had taken cipro, and was having a series of colonics for a cleanse. My dr. thinks that this combination caused the colitis. I am on colazal which has helped somewhat, but I just went to my homeopath who put me on nux vomica 6c 3 tablets daily, and boulardii (a specific probiotic) 2 tablets 2x daily. In a few short days this has really helped. I was having a lot of blood and mucuos in stool, and going to the bathroom between 6 and 15 times a day. I'm down to about 4, and hope to lower the colazal dosage. It's so important to maintain the balance in your colon of good bacteria, I've learned the hard way! Try the boulardii (and also get another multi strain probiotic) and think about seeing a homeopath. Mine says there are a lot of potential treatments for uc, and it's important to find the right one for your body. Hope you feel better... Tweet
