Re: adult acne, low weight, depression
You may want to look into having thyroid checked out, as what you've listed are common signs of hyperthyroidism, not to be confused with hypothyroidism. The difference is that a hyperactive thyroid produces excessive hormones, while the latter is it does not produce enough. Thyroid conditions also have a high probability of being passed on, which would explain your families situation.
Common symptoms are:
* Heart palpitations; accelerated heart rate
* Chest pain
* A feeling of being too warm all the time
* Nervousness and trembling
* Insomnia despite feeling exhausted
* Breathlessness
* Diarrhea and GI upset
* Increased appetite
* Light or absent menstrual periods; infertility
* Weight loss
* Muscle deterioration
* Warm, moist skin
* Hair loss
* Bulging eyes, “spacy” gaze
* Heightened anxiety, irritability, moodiness or depression
Iodine is the nutrient the thyroid utilizes, so in the case of hyperthyroidism it's recommended to cut
Iodine sources from your diet, these include iodized salt(most
table salt is), fish, and all sea-derived ingredients.
While on the other hand increasing consumption of raw uncooked cruciferous vegetables, these contained goitrogens which block the absorption of iodine. Cooking at even low heats destroys these however.
I believe several people on Acne.org have cured their
Acne by addressing their thyroid. Also look into broccoli & other cruciferous supplements, these can be very potent and just 1 or 2 pills can equal more than you would consume normally in a day.
