Nope, this had nothing to do with parasites. I live on the Gulf of Mexico, and one day after closing my shop, we had these nasty looking white flakes floating down out of the sky. They evaporated with time.
Have you ever heard of chemtrails?
I've been spending a good deal of time reading about them, there are a lot of posts on the chemtrail support forum and the chemtrail debate forum about the issue.
I wound up taking almost a gram of Iodide a day for about three weeks to beat it back, I still have the crud at bit, but not like I did.
