Why not use pyrex glassware?

Whay not use a pyrex beaker or glass? My 2 litre Erlenmeyer borosilicate (pyrex) beaker works great. I can boil water in it or use it as a drinking jug. It's sturdy and relatively inexpensive. Borosilicate is widely used in chemistry so theres lots of it on the market in various shapes and forms.
