Synergistic effect of mercury with lead extremely toxic

When an animal or person has both lead and mercury, the toxic effect is more than 10 times higher than for either mercury or lead alone. Animal studies have found that a level of mercury that kills 1% of mice together with a level of lead that kills 1% of mice, together kills all mice for example. Similar with other metals such as cadmium.
