I'm using a Blistex Lip Protectant which you can buy from Zellers or Walmart. It's not a cream, more like a chapstick but liquid. It contains non-medicinal moisturizers (Avacado, Aloe, Chamomile, Jojoba, Shea Butter) and medicinal ones (Petrolatum, Octyl Methoxylcinnamate, and Oxybenzone). It's not very thick and it helps with the hardness so that it's easier to peel during the day. Unfortunately it doesn't stop EC, it helps manage it. And I've tried all sorts of oils too like almond, coconut, even cocoa butter and shea butter on their own but they don't work.
To be honest I don't think any topical will work. It's definitely something internal. Some have said it may be because of lack of sleep, a thyroid condition, IBS, or mental stress. Well I have all four. See the thing is you have to treat the cause, not the effect (EC).
