Re: Sore Ribs

have you tried an orthopedic? I am currently seeing an orthopetic doctor who shares his practice with a chiropractor. They have been working together to help me regarding a bad case of costochondritis, the doctor called Tietze's syndrome.

To handle some of the pain (sitting upright is the most painful)...
It was recommended to complete a 15/30 set of icing every 1.5hrs for acute pain. Then, spread it out to every 2-3hrs.
15 mins - Ice the ribs affected
30mins - no ice
15mins - Ice the ribs affected
30mins - no ice
15mins - Ice the ribs affected

My doctor recommended I place the ice pack in a pillow case to make sure it was cold enough, without causing an ice burn.

Also, kineso taping (changed twice a week) has really helped with the rib pain while sitting. I was told it supports your ribs while increasing the blood flow around the affected area.
