I've just been wondering this same thing--but I do have HPV which causes genital warts- and they say once you have the HPV virus, it doesn't go away, it can lay dormant in the body and the genital warts can crop up at any time. I've had it for 30 years now, and during that time I've had them show up in the cervix 3-4 times where they had to be burned off with the liquid nitrogen (cryo therapy)...
But my "wondering" is...can the HPV virus warts go to OTHER organs inside the body- like the liver, pancreas etc.
Hope not! Can't imagine what a mess it would be if they have to be burned off in the cervix, to have them show up on other organs--I don't know that the anti-fungal medication would work for them? HPV is the leading cause of cervical cancer.
