I don't doubt you at all - it is just that the cures will likely appear a bit strange to western peoples.  I found a number of similar remedies when I was researching remedies from around the world and throught the ages for one of my books, but did not include many of them - not because I doubted them, but because either the ingredients would be too difficult to acquire and/or I did not think they would be accepted.  For example, the Cambodian remedy for stomach ach of swallowing 8 baby catfish whole . . .
