I have recently been diagnosed with high blood pressure initially 193/110 and although it dropped to 160/100 over the course of being monitored by my GP ( four week period ) she prescribed medication ( lisinopril 10mg ). I have for the last few years followed a bodybuilding lifestyle with regular gym sessions and high protein diet along with creatine supplementation but my doctor advised me against lifting weights till this is under control. As a further problem recently highlighted I have reduced kidney function running at approximately sixty percent but I am led to believe that bodybuilding diets with their high protein consumption and excessive urea in the bloodstream after intense exercise can sometimes create false diagnosis. Well the wheels are grinding slowly as per checkups etc ( not due another one till August )and I am desperate to get back in the gym. How have some of you managed here regards lifting heavy and with intensity with high blood pressure?
