coughed up something very weird!

i just coughed up a very strange thing. it is the color of mucous, and has a tough rubbery texture. basically it looks like a bunch of little sacs that are a little bigger than sesame seeds. they are all connedted along a piece of tissue that has the same color and texture. the sacs are rounded at the base but then come to a point at the other end. the entire structure is about 1/2 inch long and about 1/2 inch wide. there are about ten sacs in all.
Does anyone have any idea what in the world this could be? A piece of lung tissue? is that even possible? I should add that last night i got food poisoning and i threw up several times, but the last time was hours before i coughed this thing up.
