In back of tongue only--white coating

I develop white coating on the back of my tongue and get bad breath. Scraping it off helps eliminate temporary until it comes back.
I read that the white coating is not thrush but collection of anaerobic bacteria that cannot stand oxygen. They die off. Is there any way to get rid of it? I also read that recent research that the lack of L Salivarius bacteria in mouth causes chronic bad breath. Tweet
