And you seem to misunderstand, probably not out of ignorance.
At no time did I say that animal testing was completely irrelavant to humans. It is, quite the contrary, extremely important. They don't typically test a mouse's reaction to a new medication or chemical because they think the mouse is going to take it home and use it, as prescribed. It is obviously an important step in the research process.
What I said, now and in the past, Tom, is that tests in which that many subjects die, are not transferable to humans and are not used as a way to establish lethal numbers for humans. See LD50 study.
So, again, too many test animals die, not used for human predictions.
I'm sure the good doctors already know this.
