Re: is pasteurization of food/drink a GOOD thing??
The process of pasteurization was named after Louis Pasteur who discovered that many bacteria, virus & yeast could be inactivated in wine by applying heat at temperatures below its boiling point.
The process was later applied to milk and remains the most common operation in the processing of milk and milk products, including yogurt.
Definition of milk pasteurization:
The heating of every particle of milk or milk product to a specific temperature for a specified period of time without allowing recontamination of that milk or milk product during the heat treatment process.
Advantages:
- Kills bad bacteria
- extends shelf life of the product
Disadvantages
- kills good bacteria (pottentially inducing candidiasis)
- destroys good enzymes, decreasing food quality
- shortens your life (It is not important... your life is not important. It is important to extend shelf life! That is business!)
What is the best way of consuming milk or vegetable or fruit juice?
The best way is to consum it raw, non-heated!
Fresh milk is better then pasteurised.
Fresh milk turns into yogurt. Yogurt is good.
Fresh juice is better then pasteurised.
Fresh juice can be made at home, with juicer.
Any food can spoil, if kept too long on inaproprite temperature, including juice or milk .... and can poison you an kill you!
Don't eat food that is not fresh!
Eat fresh, or don't eat .... that is a healthy way.
