1 week on Tonic
I'm going to call Charlie tomorrow, but I wanted to share this with everyone. I haven't had a period in 5 months, and I started my period today. That is AWESOME. I had a acupuncturist spend 6 weeks on me trying to get my hormones to regulate, to no avail (I don't want to tell you how much that cost me, I think he can send his kids to college now).
My symptoms are as follows:
1. Pain in my liver, at all times. It gets worse when I eat fat and most animal protein (low fat fish seems to be OK). As a result, I'm pretty much a vegan. I do not have a gallbladder anymore, so that is not what it is.
2. Very sensitive digestion, nausea and pain, bloating. As above, animal fat and protein appear to be the worst culprits. I have actually grown to love my new diet, though I'd love to eat a filet mignon again before I die.
3. Chronic constipation.
4. 5 months without a period and I've only had three periods in the last 10 months. (I'm not overweight and I'm only 43)
5. Chronic fatigue.
6. Interstitial cystitis. I don't expect the liver tonic to do anything about this, keeping my urinary pH above 6.5 keeps it under control. But I'd like to see if it helps.
Since I started, I'm having normal BMs, my digestion is far less sensitive, and I do seem to be able to eat fat without wanting to hurl. I still haven't tried adding too much animal fat to the mix, my digestion/liver were totally trashed before I started, and I'm not willing to go into the hospital again. The pain in my liver area is still there, but it's improving.
I was going to wait to make a testimonial post, but getting my period today just floored me.
