Did you happen to see the label?

It is taken as capsules; so no taste. It is predominately magnesium. Too expensive for me. I prefer magnesium citrate anyway. Better assimilation for me than oxides. I take it daily. Not all forms of magnesium will work for each person. Just experiment. I find that magnesium really does help to move the bowels. Probably helps to calm the muscles and help the heart as well.
Magnesium is an element that we can't seem to get enough of; so supplementing should be fine. Whatever is not assimilated goes into the intestines and draws liquid (water) to it. This makes the stool soft. Think "Milk of Magnesia".
I believe it will help with the symptoms of IBS; but the symptoms only. I know what you mean about a long term battle with IBS. Somehow, we must find and fix the cause.
Here is one that I intend to try next. It has various forms of magnesium.
