No. After enough Yankee trash moved in, they changed the law in 04. Had to, for public safety reasons. Seemed the non-Texans don't know how to conduct themselves with the freedom of open containers. When it was mostly Texans, things were much safer for everyone, and open containers were permissible because people as a whole were more responsible.

They even changed the law to allow home equity loans, which was previously forbidden, to protect the people from the bankers. I'm fixin to move out to a better place, but won't tell anyone where.
