Re: Are these colors correct?

Hello Daniel,

So far, so good...

You want to avoid sniffing the gas that is coming off of the solution. It is chlorine dioxide gas and it will irritate your airway tissues at moderate to high concentrations. The yellow-green color indicates a high concentration of chlorine dioxide in solution.

Next you want to dilute your mixture with water, until the yellow-green color is basically clear, with maybe just a very slight hint of yellow to it. You are shooting for a 1 PPM free ClO2 solution. If you add about 400 ml of water to it, you should be close.

Tom
