I would say type 1 because gallstones falling into the pancreas is a common cause which ultimately blocks your islets cells in the pancreas from producing insulin. Those cells are either dead or blocked from producing insulin.

Type 2 diabetes is insulin resistance where the insulin receptors no longer consider the high doses of sugar eaten to be high.

When the body consumes too much sugar, the body will no longer see it as a threat but a normal amount. The resulting insulin produced will no longer be sufficient. Lowcarb diet cures type 2.

 

That's just my 2 cents.
