Outstanding post, DQ! Congrats on the red R. Didn't know this forum was moderated and really didn't know anybody was giving out Rs.

A minor complaint, however... I have barely cracked North and now you expect us to read Locke- and probably the others listed in this essay? I love a challenge, but I didn't know this was "frickin'" summer school! :-P

On John Locke: I've only read his "An Essay on Human Understanding," which is a two volume work. It's not exactly light reading. I have/force my seniors read Locke so they won't be total dweebs when they hit the college campus (campi? campae?) of their choice. Descartes and Kant if they want (only one took me up on them so far lol... and he liked Descartes better than Locke).
