Budwig's protocol called for good flax seed oil. Good flax seed oil is hard to make (manufacture well without destroying nutrients) and find and keep good.
If one grinds good quality whole flax seed in a blender (or coffee grinder), it completely pulverizes it, and I would imagine you ARE getting top quality flax seed OIL as well as everything else in a flax seed besides the oil. (Though it wouldn't resemble oil, but powder.) Seems to me to be a superior (and cheaper) way to get good flax seed oil. One would need to figure how much flax seed oil is in flax seed? Does 1 T. seed = 1 t. oil? Anyone have any idea?
I always prefer whole foods to food parts. So it just seems using whole flax seed, completely ground (so as to be easily digested) would be a great way to get flax seed oil. And you could easily mix (blend) the ground seed with cottage cheese....
