EM is the brand name for a commerical probiotic liquid. The microbes in all food-based probiotics differ somewhat. There are hundreds of different strains of probiotics. Your gut should have around 400 different strains, and I recommend getting as many from as much food sources as possible. I do take some in capsules to get some different strains not found in food. The commercial market still has a good way to go as far as creating a really great probiotic formula. There are many issues and barriers in doing so. If I had the money, I would do so myself!!

Not only that, but bacteria strains are like any other living thing...a tomato is a tomato, but two can vary according to how it is grown and taken care of...
