Through out Italy, Southern France, and Greece its very common for rural and everyday folks to down a shot of EVO or unfilterd EVO every morning and evening. The glass used is about 50ml. In Greece the EVO glass is filled with Ouzo immediately swirled and downed. Italians follow with grappa and the French with cognac or aramic.
An friend from Spain would down a 100ml shot of oil ( usually Oil) before a night of partying. I've done the same here in Russia before evening meeting with officals and it keeps me upright at the end of the meeting. LOL Tweet
