some years ago i found a small bump under my left nipple. my GP said it was a "skin problem" and sent me to a surgeon.the surgeon confirmed that it was a "skin problem" and was ready to remove it but "it wouldn't be nice".
so i decided to wait and see. now, a few years later the sebaceous cyst ( my own diagnosis) has grown to cover the whole area under the nipple and feels very hard. no discharge form the nipple. and i still believe there is no serious problem. the only thing is that sometimes it can be quite painful from the pressure inside the thing from expanding more and more. also i have to put a plastic cover with Green Clay and oil to keep the skin healthy and from forming crusts.
i am looking for a solution and have been wondering if they could just empty the thing instead of removing half my breast for no good reason. it would have to be done probably every 5 or so years but i think it is better than removing the whole thing. they could make an incision half around the nipple en remove the content of the cyst but i am afraid that it will be impossible to switch the head of the surgeons to break away from their routines. a plastic surgeon won't want to burn his fingers on this one i'm sure.
