oral herpes

I contracted herpes when I was only 13 from my boyfriend. I am very uneducated on the subject. I almost always have at least one blister in my mouth at all times. I constatly rinse with listerine and change my toothbrush at least once a week. Is there anything that anyone can recommend to help curve these outbreaks, b/c my health insurance doesn't cover any medications for it and they are way to much for me to pay out of pocket.
