tiny mites

I just moved to a new flat in istanbul. I'm using the same detergent and products that I have for awhile. The previous tenants had no cats, dogs or birds. I've seen tiny, almost imperceptible, mites on a table by the window and, now, on me.

The flat is on the top floor of a 7 floor building by the sea. There are pigeons and sea gulls that land and roost on the ledge. This is the only connection I can make to the mites and my bites and itching.

Does anyone have any clues how to get rid of the pigeons, mites and these bites? The itching is horrible! Could they be a kind of crab, rather than a pigeon bite?

Finding help here, with the language barrier, is very, very difficult!
