Need urgent help of any kind for brain cyst
Hello, I'm a 21 year old female, currently living in Thailand. About a week ago, I woke up one day with numbness in my leg, foot, arm, face, all in the right side of the body. The numbness in the leg is the worst, when I touch I cannot feel at all, and disturbs the way I walk. Around my numbness of the leg and foot, I feel some strange sensations, all the time, and are worst after walking, etc. I also feel a little bit dizzy and sometimes confused.
After a few days of these symptoms, I went to see my Chinese doctor. She thought that it was a paralysis of the left brain, so she did acupunctures in order to stimulate the nerves. The next day I still felt the same, so I decided to go to hospital in order to see a doctor. The neurologist that I saw didn't seems to care much... he though it might be a diseases that only happens to Caucasians ( I am half Caucasian and half Asiatic), so he wanted me to try the medicine against that disease. He then asked me if it was OK for me to stay like this, with the numbness, etc. I said no, it is disturbing me. So he said that I either take the medicine, or do a MRI.
When the result were done, I borrowed the scans and results in order to show to my sleep specialist who wanted to see them. She said i have two cyst in the left brain. The biggest one is touching the sensations part of the brain. She said that there is nothing they can do since it is too deep in the brain. She also thinks that it might be a parasite, but there is no way to tell if yes or not. All we can do is to re-do a scan in two months.
Because I was under the chock, I didn't really understand everything she was saying. I am still under the chock and want different opinion from different doctors.
If anyway would know a method that might help me in curing or shrinking the cyst, please let me know, it will be very appreciated. Any kind of help or advice will be greatly helpful.
Here are my MRI results:
Findings:
-There is a 0.7x0.6x0.6 cm, well circumscribed lesion at postero-inferior aspect of left putamen. It shows hyposignal intensity on T1WI, hypersignal intensity on T2WI and hyposignal intensity on PD image, it likely to be a cystic lesion. No mass effect to the adjacent white matter is observed.
-The rest of the brain parenchyma appear normal.
-Both CN VII are normal size and signal intensity.
-Mild dilatation of Virchow Robin space (periventricular space) is noted at both basal ganglia is seen.
-The ventricular systems and basals cisterns are normal.
-No shifting of midline structure or brain herniation is noted.
-Prominent of pituitary gland, size is 1.2x0.6x0.8 cm in AP diameter, width and height, however there is normal posterior bright spot of pituitary on T1W image.
-A 0.4 cm, small cyst in subarachnoid space about left posterior temporal region.
-The visible paranasal sinuses are clear.
-The bones are normal.
Impression: A 0.7x0.6x0.6 cm, cyst at posterior aspect of left putamen, the DDX is encephalomalacic changed from previous trauma or hemorrhage or infarction.
Prominent of pitutiary gland, it likely to be physiologic process.
Thank you
